I was involved in a spatial redesign project for an apartment in Prague, Czech Republic during my time at Studio Bara. The project centered around renovating an old kitchen to create a more functional flow and updated look.
By taking advantage of the large windows in the main area, the idea was to create a plan that incorporated the kitchen better with the living room to create an inviting open concept. The client wished for a simple and modern design with lots of storage solutions that compliments and blends together with the current design.

I created three versions for the plan using Rhino 8 and developed further in SketchUp. As further investigation into the project, I explored SketchUp’s new plug- in called Diffusion. Given the rise of AI in today’s technology, I thought it would be an interesting exercise to see what SketchUp’s plug-in could create. It was valuable to see what it could create, but it became clear that AI softwares do not fully have the capabilities and contextual understanding that comes with creating a model.

It is clear that it is important to maintain a balance between technology and human expertise, ensuring that the human touch remains at the forefront of architectural innovation.
